General enquiries

Use the enquiry form for questions about SHCSA, its strategic functions, published information, meetings, programmes or where to find the right public service.

Give enough information for the Authority to understand what you need. The enquiry is recorded with a reference so it can be routed to the responsible part of the organisation and tracked through the administrative process.

Finding the organisation responsible

SHCSA is the regional strategic authority, not the local council for each constituent area and not the operator of every public service in Steadfast and Hearth.

Local council services and individual planning applications are normally handled by the relevant constituent council. Operational policing, fire, health, care, education and other public services are handled by the organisations responsible for those services. If your question belongs elsewhere, the Authority will direct you to the appropriate route where it can identify it.

Freedom of information and information rights

Use the information-rights service when you want recorded information held by SHCSA rather than general advice or an explanation. This ensures the request is handled under the correct process and recorded separately from ordinary correspondence.

Complaints

Use the complaints procedure if you are dissatisfied with SHCSA's administration or with a service for which the Authority itself is responsible. Complaints about another council or public body normally need to be made directly to that organisation.

Consultations

Responses to an open consultation are submitted through the consultation page so that they form part of the correct consultation record and can be considered with the other responses.

Accessible contact

If a website page, document or form prevents you from accessing information or contacting the Authority, tell us what you were trying to do and what barrier you encountered. The Authority can then consider an accessible alternative and investigate the underlying problem.
